MISSIONS AND OUTREACH MINISTRY
MISSIONS MINISTRY
GRACEHILL MISSION CHURCH is a Mission-oriented community. We prioritize the Great Commission by committing our resources to share the gospel purposefully and strategically. Our mission’s emphasis includes:
CROSS CULTURAL MISSIONS
We believe the local church must reach beyond it’s ‘Jerusalem’ to the uttermost parts of the world. To those who have not heard.
Refugee ministry: For many years, we had outreach to the refugees in Dadaab refugee camp where were had a church but insecurity hampered the work. Most of the refugees were moved to the Kakuma Refugee camp. We hope to start ministry there soon.
South Sudan Mission: Since 2018, Gracehill Mission Church has partnered with Africans to Africa (a missions’ initiative of World Concern) to carry our missions strategically in South Sudan. We have a Gracehill missionary on the ground in Wau, South Sudan who is working with local believers in the area to train young evangelists to reach their own in places that have not been reached by the gospel. We are grateful to be part of a work that has seen several thousands of people turn to Christ since we sent the missionary.
CHURCH PLANTING
We believe the local church is the hope of the community. God wants healthy local churches planted as the light and beacons of hope for the community. We are committed to planting churches and partnering with church planting movements in South Sudan. Apart from being part of the church planting movement going on in South Sudan, we have several other church plants. We have Gracehill congregations in Thogoto (Kikuyu), Kitengela, Ruiru (Northlands), and Meru (Nkubu).
STUDENT MINISTRIES
One of our passions and calling as a church is ministry to students. Indeed, our initial growth as a church was almost entirely from our student ministries. This passion has continued to date and the Lord continues to shower us with grace and to open many unique doors. We have diverse student ministries:
The Anchor: This is our ministry to Primary Schools. We seek to have an ongoing relationship with a few primary schools where we offer holistic ministry including spiritual formation, academic motivation and social empowerment. The Anchor Ministry has worked in several primary schools and we continue seeing more doors open as the Lord says, ‘let the children come to me.’
STEP: This is our ministry to high school students. Our goal is to lead students to transforming encounters with the word of God through practical and relevant programs both in their schools and in programs run at Gracehill. We seek to work in partnership with school administrations as well as with parents and with other churches and ministries to realize our goal of reaching the youth. Currently, we are doing weekly ministry in several of the schools in our neighborhood.
Apart from the programs we hold in schools, this platform also organizes forums where we host students in the church for career/academic clinics, spiritual forums and social empowerment forums.
PACE: The Platform for Accountability, Character & Career Enrichment is our program to Campus/college students and emerging post-college professionals. This platform is anchored on mentorship towards a balanced approach to life. To achieve this, PACE has many expressions, including;
- Accountability and mentorship
- Empowerment for healthy relationship building
- Career mentorship
- Ministry mentorship & partnerships
GRACEWALK: These are small groups (teams) discovery and study groups for campus students. The groups follow the GRACEWALK study guides. They are a seedbed for growth and transformation as the members take a discipleship walk with mentors who leading along a walk of grace, maturity in Christ, and influence in the society.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We are persuaded that God has placed within our host community so that we may be the salt and the light of the community. Our ministries to the community include
Every Home Crusade: a continuous, creative and diverse outreach program aimed at sharing the gospel with every home around us.
Jirani Kids/Teens Club: a weekly ministry to the neighborhood (Jirani) kids. The kids meet every Friday evening while the teens meet on Saturday. This is a practical ministry designed to respond to the needs of the kids in a holistic way.
Parenting programs: these are held every School Holiday for a day. They have been a great way to empower families in the community and are also an extension of the Jirani Kids programs.
Agape Academic Mentorship Platform
This program has two platforms:
- Response to the need of children in the community by supporting the neediest among them with school fees and other educational materials. We have a number of children in this program and the results are revolutionary. Stories of whole families are changing before our very eyes. Indeed, God is writing beautiful stories.
- Academic mentorship; In partnership with neighboring campuses, we have a holiday mentorship program designed to help students in their studies and also to mold their lives holistically.
FANAKA KWA JAMII
This is an economic empowerment program
As we commit ourselves to community transformation, we recognize the need for a holistic approach. We have initiated this program to help willing members of the community to start saving towards a healthier future as we also train and empower them on biblical principles of investments and healthy living.
